Design Team Member and Parasol Card

Hi everyone, I am so pleased to have been offered to join a great new team of people over at Beyond Grey.

Why not come over and visit me at this new blog and see what I am getting up to.  The first challenge is due to come up tomorrow and for this challenge I have created the following card.  You will have to go to the blog to find out what the challenge is all about.

Please come and support me and join in the challenges on my new venture as a DT.

This card is a 9 x 6 the whole way round.  I used an embossing die (although I can't remember what it is called) which is much smaller than the panel that I used to start off with.  I am not too happy with it, but I had already started the card and I thought I would finish it off to see what it looked like.

I then die cut 3 parasols and put sky blue ribbon through the holes on the parasols. I attached 3 light blue roses (coloured with promarkers), then attached a pearl swirl to the right of the card.  I then created a large bow to put on the left hand side of the card with the ribbon going all the way round the card.  On the left hand side I put 2 (blue) lillies again coloured with promarkers.

I finished it off with a silver Congratulations at the top of the card.  It is not perfect, but these are the ones that need to be worked on.

I do hope that you like my card.

Best Wishes

Good afternoon everyone, sorry I haven't been about for a few days.  Unfortunately, I fell and badly hurt myself and this is me just getting myself back together again.

I made this card before my excitement happened, but didn't have time to post it.

I used Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and one of the dies from Parisian Accents and the fourth smallest die from Gold Labels Four.  I used cream pearlescent card and built up the dies on the panel of the card that I used to start off with.  Once I had completed building everything up, I then stuck on tiny gold coloured crystals around the edges.  To complete the card I put a ribbon and a bow at the bottom of the card with stick pins and a couple of charms to finish it off. (The charms are not on this card, but they were put on it before it was given to the recipient)

I changed the colour of the stick pins from white to gold, this was taken from a tip from Sue over at Particraft.  This was a tip that she gave while she was on Create and Craft on Sunday.  You take your stick pin and rub it all around a Versamark clear pad to ensure that the whole pin head is covered in ink and then you dip it into whatever colour of embossing powder that you want.  I chose gold and I think that it turned out great.  Thanks Sue for the tip.

I apologise that the instructions are not more complete, but the card has now been given away and the batteries have just died on my camera, and my memory just ain't the same anymore.   Not having much luck here with things.

Anyway, I will post the card for you to have a look at, and I hope that you like it.

Little girl with roses

Hi everyone, I hope that you are all having a good day so far.  Well, today in Renfrew the sun is definately NOT shining, it looks as if the rain is on the way.  They have been telling us that there are storms on the way and I must admit it certainly feels like it.  There is no air, it is so clammy and unpleasant.  Hopefully, the rain will come and go as quick as it came.

Well, I have surpassed myself by colouring in an image of a little girl with roses.  It is not perfect, but it is a start.

I coloured the little girl with my watercolour pencils and then matted her on top of a Floral Oval die-cut.  I put a couple of  little red Twinkle Goosebumps from Queen & Co and a couple of stickers that I won from Paper Cellar, the paper also came from my winnings - also from the Paper Cellar.

Hopefully, you will all like my little card.

Bezels

When I went to the craft class on Saturday, we were lucky enough to make a lovely Bezel piece of jewellery.  Mine was heart shaped and had 3 sizes, small, medium and large.   I worked with each of these bezels, but with the smaller of the two bezels, I made the larger one as a piece of jewellery and the smaller ones as two lovely heart shaped stones. My bezel was created the same way as the instructions that I have highlighted for you.  It was something very different for me to produce and I must admit to thorougly enjoying it!!!!!!!!!!!  The only problem is, if you were to go and buy all the materials that you need in the one go, it would amount to a bit of money,

I will get the items that I need a piece at a time, as I really enjoyed making these and I think they would make an additional attraction to the cards that I make as well.

In the inside a piece of paper with words on it was cut out and placed, this has to be glued in with pritt stick or something similar.  If you don't do this, the paper will float to the top of the resin.  You can put whatever you please inside the bezel, before completely filling it with the resin.  I put in pearls, crystals, 2 buttons, pieces of rose coloured stone, 1 dragonfly, very hard gold glitter pieces and the word 'inspiration'.

To finish off the bezel, I attached a piece of chain with two beads and one charm, which was a key.  The chain can easily come apart to place it wherever you want it to go.

Your bezel has to be left to dry for at least 24 hours, just to make sure that the whole thing has set.  Once it has set, you can see that it turns out to be a lovely piece of handbag jewellery or whatever you would like it to be.

In order to get the bezel that I used, go to the link below where it will give you the details of how to get this bezel or other designs.

Here is my finished bezel and chain, I think that it turned out beautifully and I will be making more once I get myself all the materials.  I hope that you like it.

Here are the two hearts that I made from the smaller Bezels.

Keep smiling

If at times you feel you want to cry,
And life seems such a trial;
Above the clouds there's a bright blue sky,
So make your tears a smile.
spazmosmile2spazmo
As you travel on life's way,
With its many ups and downs;
Remember its quite true to say,
One smile is worth a dozen frowns.
spazmosmile2spazmo
Among the world's expensive things,
A smile is very cheap;
And when you give a smile away,
You get one back to keep.
spazmosmile2spazmo
Happiness comes at times to all,
But sadness comes unbidden;
And sometimes a few tears must fall,
Among the laughter hidden.
spazmosmile2spazmo
So when friends have sadness on their face,
And troubles round them piled;
The world will seem a better place,
And all because you smiled!
kisseyface
Make someone smile and pass this on!

To everyone who comes and reads my blog, thank you all so much xxx
