Christopher's Birthday - 613 Avenue Create - Challenge 19 - Create a shaped card / Create a scrap page
My little baby boy (he will kill me if he knows that I have put this), turned 24 years of age yesterday. I cannot believe that it is 24 years since I had him.
I am also going to enter this card into the Forever Friends: Monthly Challenge - Anything Goes
I always make him a card for his birthday, but he generally likes 'cards for kids', I don't think he likes to be reminded that 'he is a man' now, mind you that is to be disputed at times. lol
Anyway, here is the card that I made him for his 24th Birthday.
Tattered Lace Dies
Hi all, I have just ordered some new Tattered Lace dies from a company called BG Payne Crafts, I had never heard of this site before and I just stumbled across it. The prices on the site are (I thought anyway) really good, and I have saved this into my favourites. lol
The Tattered Lace dies that I ordered are not due out until 28th April 2013 and they were about £4.00 cheaper than any other site that I have been on, it might be a good site for you to check out. I think I may be about to order the rest of them, well maybe not right away but in the very near future.
So why not go and have a look, you might be pleasantly surprised.
HOSPITAL VISIT
Good morning everyone,
I just thought that I would tell you all, in case you thought that I was MIA (again), I am going into hospital on Monday until Friday. It isn't for anything serious, it is just the Homeopathic Hospital that I go into, normally ever 3 - 6 months.
They try out a therapy called 'Neural Therapy' on me, I must admit though it hasn't done anything for me, apart from causing extreme pain. lol They inject me with 16 injections into my head, 4 injections into each of my ankles, this is supposed to try to help with my balance.
The first time they tried it out on me, I was given 6 weeks where I could walk without my crutches, although it didn't do anything for the pain.
The second time it did absolutely nothing at all.
So, this will be my third and last time of getting it done, and if it doesn't work I won't get it again. I must admit, I wouldn't mind not getting it done again, as only getting 6 weeks without crutches doesn't seem worth it............. or maybe it does!
So I will let you all know how it goes when I come out of hospital and tell you whether or not it worked this time.
I am going to try and put in a couple of other posts before I go into hospital, but before that, I really need to sort out my stash which has totally overtaken my living room, there is no room for anyone to have a seat. So it is just as well really, that I never have any visitors. lol
Speak to you all soon, and I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and the sun is shining wherever you are.

Acetate Front Card
Good morning everyone, I am sorry that I haven't been around for a while, I have no excuse apart from the fact that I have been trying out different techniques for my cardmaking. I am going to enter this card into The Outlawz - GCC0429, this is the first card that I have entered for quite a while as I haven't been too good. I hope everyone likes it. Jen :-)
I have been having a look online and have been spending the majority of my time on Card Making Magic, I just absolutely love this site and the tutorials that are available, here is the first card that I have tried out. It is the Acetate Front card, I know that this is the first time that I have tried this project, but I was quite pleased with the way that it turned out.
Items used: A4 embossing folder, circular sentiment "With love", 3 pink roses, 1 diamonte, piece of self adhesive ribbon, 1 ribbon and 1 heart, 1 piece of acetate.
I embossed the A4 folder and then cut it to size for the card,. then punched the bottom of the card with a Martha Stewart punch. I then die cut swirls to put on the card, attached the roses and the diamante and the sentiment with foam pads. I then cut out acetate to cover the whole of the card and ensured there was enough acetate to make it a bow shape to cover the roses and not "squash" them.
An extra 1.5" was put onto the acetate at either side, I then stuck on the pink ribbon and I then stuck down one side of the acetate using Pinflair Glue and put on bulldog clips to hold it in place, I then glued down the other side using bulldog clips until it all dried.
Once everything was dried I then stuck on my pink ribbon and pink heart.
I do hope that you like my first trial run of my card.

Baby Boy 3D Keepsake
Hi everyone
I was asked by someone to create a Baby Boy 3D Keepsake, this was a very nice project to do from start to finish.
I cut out all the pieces of the template and started by putting the bottom of the box together, and then the two struts in the centre which became 4 struts to split the box into four. I stuck silver strips to the outside of the struts and I then added the outside edges with the prams round all four sides. The prams had Glamour Dust sprinkled all round the prams and the wheels. There were 4 crystals put round each of the pram sides. I cut out another 2 prams to put inside the four struts, I cut out babies to create other images. These were all covered with Glamour Dust. The inside baby was cut out and put at the top of the struts and hung with invisible thread. I attached 2 silver charms, one a silver cross pram, the other a baby cardigan.
There were crystals attached to the top of the struts and bows, there was some decoupage attached nearer the bottom of the card. I then created the box, it was made with cardboard and acetate and finished the whole project off nicely.

Nautical but nice
Hi everyone, I just thought I would post a few cards that I have been working on both on my own and at the craft shop. So the first one was made at the craft shop, which I did enjoy. It is slightly different from what I usually do, but this class was mainly to do cards for men, which as we all know are very difficult to produce. lol
This was a 12.5cm x 18cm card with blue and white stripey paper as the background, then turquoise paper, the brown coloured paper was a Bassil paper. I then tied round double blue and white twine and tied it off in a bow, I attached a sentiment from the All Sentiments stamp set, this was done before I attached it to the main card. I then embossed anchors onto acetate and attached them to the card with two silver brads.
